Garwnant Visitor Centre
 

GARWNANT VISITOR CENTRE, TRAILS, PLAY AREA AND CAR PARK WILL BE CLOSED FROM THE 12th SEPTEMBER 2008 AND IT WILL REOPEN FOR EASTER 2009. THIS IS DUE TO THE REFURBISHMENT OF THE CENTRE.

How to get there:

Garwnant Visitor Centre is in Coed Taf Fawr which is part of Brecon Beacons National Park Forests. Merthyr Tydfil is the nearest town or village.

Garwnant is situated just off the A470 5 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil. It is well sign posted from the A470., It can be found on OS Landranger Map 160 and Outdoor Leisure 12., Public Transport is provided by Stagecoach 0870 6082608. There is also a Beacons Bus Service which runs on Bank Holidays and Sundays throughout the summer -Tel. 01873 853254

Cycling There is no cycle hire at present in Garwnant.
Garwnant Cycle Trail
Educational Schools and Community Groups! Come and join the Ranger and explore the forests around Garwnant. Educational and fun visits tailored for all needs.
Fishing Permits available for fishing on the Brecon Beacons Reservoirs via the ticket machine only at weekends or via ticket machine or Welsh Water Wardens during weekdays. PERMITS ARE NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE FORESTRY COMMISSION.
Orienteering Three orienteering routes of varying ability, yellow, orange and green routes.
Play Area Forest Frenzy is a low rope assault course. Recommended ages 7-15. There is also a new play area for under 7s.
Other Activities The long distance Taff Trail from Cardiff to Brecon passes through the centre, offering a diversity of splendid views.
