Moel Famau
Lying in the North West of Wales, on the Clwydian Range, with Offas Dyke long distance footpath running along its boundary and Loggerheads Country Park near by, Moel Famau forest is described as the gateway to rural Wales. It covers 579 hectares and has a relatively wide range of species. It is within easy reach of Liverpool, Chester and Wrexham, all of which can be seen from its summit.
How to get there:
Moel Famau is part of Clwyd. Mold is the nearest town or village.
From Mold take the A494. Follow this road through the towns of Gwernymynydd and Loggerheads, until you come to a junction with 'Moel Famau Country Park' sign posted to the right. Follow this road for 1m, you will see the car park on your right hand side.
