Recreation at Clowes Wood
 

The majority of the wood is conifer with mixed broadleave and open ground. Total area 236 hectares.

How to get there:

Canterbury is the nearest town or village.

The nearest train station is Canterbury East. A taxi or bus will then be required. From Canterbury, travel through Tyler Hill village to reach Clowes wood.

What's of interest
We highly recommend you visit the Blean website, which has detailed information on the local area, how to get there, things to see and do. The Crab and Winkle railway line used to run through Clowes Wood, it was the first regular steam passenger railway in the world. It opened on the 3rd of May 1830 and is now a cycle and footpath route.
