Cannop
 

Cannop Ponds is a popular picnic site. It offers a large flat grassed area close to the car park and next to the ponds.

The ponds themselves are picturesque and are home to lots of wildlife including mandarin ducks, swards and dragonflies. the top pond is a wildlife trust nature reserve. The lower two ponds are fished by Yorkley Angling club.

The family cycle trail passes by the car park and picnic area.

    Family cycle trail runs through the site. Please keep to hard stoned roads.

How to get there:

Cannop is in Forest Of Dean. Coleford is the nearest town or village.

The ponds run adjacent to the B4234 Lydney to Lydbrook Road. The main access road is off the B4226 Coleford to Cinderford Road, close to the crossroads.

Fishing Day tickets available on the bank from Yorkley Angling Club with a number of all ability access pegs. Close season March 16th - June 1st. Ponds stocked with Carp, Chub, Dace, Bream, Tench, Eels and Pike.
Wildlife Activities A good site to see Mandarin ducks.
Picnic Several picnic tables on the main picnic area, plus benches available elsewhere.
