How much does it cost?
All you have to pay is the price of a parking ticket, which lasts all day. - Cars: £1.50

- Coaches: £10.00
- Annual permit: £12.00 (now reduced to £6 for the remaining months to 31st March)
We think you’ll agree that’s excellent value! Annual permits are available from the Ranger’s Office, and are valid for one year, starting 1st April annually. When is it open?Haldon Forest Park is open all year round, except Christmas Day. Cars can still leave the car park after the entrance barrier is locked, but cannot enter. Winter Opening Hours from 29th September 2008: Weekdays & Weekends - 8.30am until 5.00pm What facilities are there?For a full list of facilities follow the links on the right hand side. How do I get there?- By car, take the Exeter Racecourse turning off the A38 Devon Expressway. From the A380 you can follow the brown tourist signs for Haldon Belvedere.
- By bus, you can catch the 360 bus to the Belvedere Tower. You can then join the trails through the woods, from the layby.
- By bicycle you can follow the A38 Cycle Way, which is part of the National Cycle Network. Turn off at the racecourse and follow the signs for Haldon Forest Park.
You can download a map. Is there a ranger on-site?There is at least one ranger on-site every day during opening hours. A ranger can usually be found in the ranger's office near the Gateway car park, however they do have many duties that require them to be out and about in the park. The ranger on duty will always leave their contact number on the blackboard, displayed in the office window. If you have an emergency, always contact the emergency services first. Where can I stay in the area?Find accommodation on the South West Tourism website. Please note that camping and overnight stays are not permitted in the forest or our car parks. Can I hire a bike at Haldon?Forest Cycle Hire are open 7 days a week, 9am-5pm. They can be found in the Hub, near the Ranger's Office. See cycling page for Winter opening details.
