Grants and Regulations in England
Welcome to the Forestry Commission England Grants and Regulations pages. Here we aim to tell you everything you may need to know about our grants and regulatory work in England. The pages are split into main areas of interest. The Grants area has information on the English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS) and on how to make a claim or an amendment to a Woodland Grant Scheme (WGS). Details on Farm Woodland Payments are also available on these pages. If you need information about Felling Licence Applications (FLAs) or Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), the Woodland Regulations link will take you to the relevant pages whilst the Public Registers contain information about grant and felling applications and EIA decisions in your area. The Land Information Search (LIS) shows features of interest relevant to your land so can help you with your application. You can also download the forms to request free maps via this link. If you need additional help or advice or are interested in the Applicant's Focus Group or our Service Standards, information is available in the Customer Support/Contact Us section. All the forms and guidance located throughout the Grants and Regulations in England pages can be found in the Document Library for quick and easy retrieval. Forestry Commission England provides support for the creation and management of woodlands through grant aid. Woodland Grant proposals and woodland management practice are required to meet the criteria set out in The UK Forestry Standard (PDF 974kb), the chief guide to the practice of sustainable forestry. Information on the use of the Standard and the process of certification of sustainably managed woodlands is given in The UK Woodland Assurance Standard 2nd Edition (PDF 1741kb).
