Accommodation, pubs & transport

Accommodation & pubs Transport & travel There are four stations in the forest at Ashurst, Brockenhurst, Sway and New Milton. Contact National Rail Enquiries for train times on 08457 484950, or visit the Trainline. Other than the New Forest Tour Bus you can also travel by Solent Blue Line or Wilts & Dorset buses. Visit their website, or contact your local visitor information centre for timetables. How to get here The New Forest lies to the west of Southampton Water in south-west Hampshire. If you're travelling from Southampton, London or the east, exit the M27 at Junction 1, signed Cadnam and head southwards into the New Forest. If you are travelling from the west, you can use the A31 from Dorset. From the north, take either the A338 from Salisbury to Ringwood in the west of the Forest, or the A36 to Totton in the east. Download the map (PDF 298K) of the forest to help you find your way. The New Forest visitor and tourist website gives details of many of the hotels and B&Bs in the New Forest, as well as some of the local pubs! There's also information about the New Forest Open Top Tour Bus. The bus stops at Lyndhurst, Lymington, Beaulieu and Brockenhurst, connecting with local trains and the Isle of Wight ferry.
