South and South East Cumbria

 

The Grizedale Beat team cover south and south east Cumbria and are based at  Grizedale  near Hawkshead, Ambleside.

The team is responsible for the forests of Grizedale, Chapel House, High Loft, Canny Hill, Linsty Green, Old Hall Wood Bouth, Bessy Bank, Low Dale Park, Claife, Sawrey Ground, Hardknott, Broughton Moor &  Rainsbarrow.

The team work closely with the Grizedale Forest Park Recreation team in managing the recreation provision within Grizedale Forest Park.

In addition to the Beat team lead by Nigel Willaims a second team is based in South Cumbria and concentrates on Harvesting. The DP Harvesting team which is lead by Andy Bennett supports Beat Foresters in Cumbria in achieving their Felling proposals. The team operates two hi tech machines and works all year round in the forests of Cumbria.
