Community forest accord
The Forestry Commission/Community Forest Joint Accord provides the framework for the continuing partnership between the two organisations to further the implementation of the England Forestry Strategy. It covers a range of actions, primarily at the National level, but also affecting decisions made by regional offices and individual Forests. It has implications for Forest Enterprise as well as other agencies within the Forestry Commission. These actions will be implemented through the National Community Forest Business Plan and the FC Regional Business Plans. The shared priorities for the Forestry Commission and the Community Forest Partnership include: - creating public access woodlands on the urban fringe
- restoring former industrial wasteland
- reversing the fragmentation of ancient woodlands
- creating larger woodlands, where they can bring enhanced social benefits
- enhancing public confidence and awareness
