Satisfying customer needs is the driving force of FBU and the
need to satisfy at 'all' levels. A challenging task when 'the bigger
picture' may not be obvious at different levels, ie regarding ability
to invest in areas currently under resourced. 

The FBU hold several objectives and aim to meet each of these
objectives with 100% commitment. These objectives are as
follows:

• To be the preferred specialist supplier of plants, mechanical
  engineering and civil engineering services to the Forestry
  Commission.
• To benchmark internal services against the private sector.
• To work together to maintain exemplary customer relations.                                              
• To develop and maintain a private suppliers network.
• To maintain a skilled and motivated team capable of meeting
  its customers requirements.
• To provide a forestry plant, mechanical and civil engineering
  service to the private sector where this enhances the idustry
  and adds value.
• To continue to make progress on the FC's sustainability
  commitment to the Greening Government initiative.
• To develop a skilled and sustainable team, fostering teambuilding
  through performance management and personal development at
  all levels.
