Delamere Nursery

Oak growing in polyhouse containersDelamere Nursery lies 10 miles east of Chester, in
several production units just off the A556 close to the
Delamere forest area.  Delamere Nursery has a current
annual programme of 14 million forest use plants. A wide
range of both conifer and broadleaved species are grown
using several nursery techniques including precision
sowing/undercutting, containerisation and traditional
transplanting methods. The majority of stock within
Delamere is open nursery produced, but almost half
spend at least some of their time in our extensive
polyhouse facilities.

All of our nurseries are equipped with large cold stores
to hold plants awaiting delivery. Trees can be freezer
Irrigating container plantsstored for up to 3 months and planted into May with no

extend the season for machine planting in Wales. Plants
are fed through a carousel into position on top of a pre-
-formed mound of soil.
